Zucchini Gratin

The completed Zucchini GratinDo you want a delicious, balanced and not expensive dish? Zucchini gratin is just such a dish. This is a fancy side dish out of everyday vegetables. There are many variations on cooking zucchini gratin. I am sharing my French friend's recipe.

Prep Time: 15 Minutes

Cook Time: 45 Minutes

Total Time: 1 Hour

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Wash the zucchini, pat dry. Then cut them into slices.
  2. Cutting zucchini into thick round slices.
     
  3. Finely chop the garlic cloves.
  4. Chopping garlic.
     
  5. Add 2 tablespoons olive oil to a large skillet, add the sliced zucchini.
  6. The cut zucchini before cooking.
     
  7. Add the chopped garlic.
  8. Adding garlic to zucchini.

  9. Sauté a bit, stirring.
  10. The cut and browned zucchini.
     
  11. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan and cook until tender. Try mashing one slice of zucchini to see if the zucchini is tender enough. When the zucchini slices are tender enough, turn off the heat.
  12. Cooking zucchini mixture.
     
    The cooked zucchini mixture.
     
  13. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  14. Remove the vegetables to a bowl.
  15. The cooked zucchini mixture.
     
  16. Mash the zucchini with a fork.
  17. Adding cheese to the top of the zucchini mixture.

  18. Add egg and mix well. Salt and pepper.
  19. Adding cheese to the top of the zucchini mixture.
     
  20. Turn the zucchini mass into the baking dish and sprinkle the shredded cheese over the zucchini.
  21. Adding cheese to the top of the zucchini mixture.
     
  22. Bake the gratin in the preheated oven until the topping is browned.
