Why not call or visit your city hall and ask the clerk what the paperwork requirements are to get married? Then you will have the most accurate answer straight from the horses mouth. You should be able to find the phone number for city hall in your phone book.

I would be very leery of marrying someone from another state who has NO ID. How do you know who he is? Just from what he tells you? Be careful!

I too, would be very leery. If he doesn't have an ID he must not work. It sounds like you probably don't know much about this person other than what's he's telling you.

Has he explained to you as to why he doesn't have an ID? I see a disaster in the making. Please be careful!

You want to marry someone whose relatives you have not met, whose back ground you don't know, who can't prove who he is. Honey if he was an ax murderer how would you know? Has he been in prison? Has he been married before? Is he divorced? Does he have children that he owes child support for?

Believe me dear, he has ID, he just doesn't want you to know about it. He is already conning you and you want to marry him?

More words of warning for you. The only people I've ever heard of or known who don't (or claim they don't) have ID are people who are trying to hide something (usually more than just one something and in most instances illegal somethings). Are you sure you want to hook up with someone who could drag you down and possibly ruin your life forever?

Even middle school and high school students have some form of official ID. Doesn't he drive? You can't even have a bank account, register to vote, board a plane, etc, etc without one for goodness sake!

Personally I would do a background check on this dubious sounding man before rushing into marriage. Do you know that once you're married you automatically become financially responsible for even pre-marriage debts in many cases? What if he owes back taxes? The IRS doesn't give a rip that he incurred them before marriage; in their eyes you are automatically responsible because you are his spouse! And believe me I know that too painfully well because when I was in my 20's I married a man who I didn't know hadn't paid his taxes for three years and I was stuck making sure those taxes plus huge penalties and interest got paid even after divorcing him.

He can get a birth certificate by going online for the state he was born in and fill out forms and send in a payment. Once he gets that, he can go to the BMV and get a state ID. Now ask yourself why he has not done this before? Is he an from this country?

When you work you need ID other than a SS. Honey, there are so many red flags here. Unless you don't really care about what happens down the road, because you will be the one who amasses all the debt. Unless you plan on paying cash for everything and he works by getting paid under the table.

Wow! :-) Not marrying someone you know nothing about is always good advice, but the OP didn't say anything about how long they've known each other. They might have been together for 10 years and lived just across state lines. Maybe she just means he doesn't have a current photo ID? At any rate, get in touch with the county clerk's office in the location where you want to get married and see what they say.
