There are many variables and that is the reason you need to visit your local family services center. It would probably be better to seek answers before the child is born so that if you are eligible you will have time to apply and get approved.
There may be other benefits available also.

Those that represent your area should have a local office and if you call and make an appointment (which is how ours work in PA), you can go there, some let you use their computers, they have copiers and notary.
The applications are complicated for all states,so sometimes it is good to have someone from the govt. help you cut through all the red tape.

Medicaid can get confusing because it is different for each state.
Most states will approve Medicaid for children but only a few have Medicaid for healthy adults.
