Product: Head-On

Manufacturer: Miralus Healthcare

Cost: $4-5

Head-On is a product that has been made fun of on TV, but it's a product that works! I get headaches a lot, and sometimes they go into migraines. You can use as much as you need, just rub the stick all over the forehead, and it does take away the pain, most of the time. It works because the stick has a cooling quality to it, and relief is usually to be found.

Chillies are appetizers for food and can burn fats, but did you know that chillies also can relieve headache? Yes, chillies are another way to get headache relief, especially if you're out of your regular headache medicines.

You only need two whole chillies and a glass of water, just like when you are drinking medicine.

A couple of small chillies and a glass of water.

Oh, come on. Unless the smell of the lime is something that relaxes you and that relaxation helps you beat your headache, this "hint" can't be taken seriously.

Maybe if you then put the lime in a marguerita and drink it, that would help. It would help me, I know.

If you want a natural way to cure headaches, take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

Put a ice cold rag on your head and get in a hot bath. The blood vessels in your head contract and the ones in your feet expand which lets the blood from your head go down into your feet. Too much blood in your brain/head = a headache. Take away that blood and voila!! Headache gone in 5-10 minutes. Try it!!

MigraStick, a roll-on peppermint and lavender oil on the temples, helps. If they're migraines in women, look into NATURAL progesterone cream. Health food stores have them.

The best way to stop a headache is to gargle water in your mouth with you head laid back on something and close your eyes, and do this with a full cup of water swallowing the water. This gets the head to stop throbbing and also works like a pain reliever getting it to fully go away.

*make sure the water your drink is cold but not too cold or the headache will get even worse.

I learned today in my senior year that if you cut a lime in half and rub it on your forehead for a minute to 2 minutes it will cure the pain instantly! =]

I tried the lime juice idea, and I think it worked for the most part. The lime juice may burn a little.

To cure your headache drink Gatorade.

By tom ferrera

Editor's Note: This works because quite often headaches are caused by dehydration. A full glass of water could help too and be much cheaper.

I have had migraine headaches for many years. One of the problems with migraines is that you are nauseated as well as dealing with the pain. I agree that you may be dehydrated. I keep caffeinated soda on hand for these occasions. Drink it when you take your pain meds. Some medications specifically for migraine headaches have caffeine as an ingredient. It seems to make Tylenol or other meds work better. Also, if you have a really long lasting headache take Tylenol one time and then ibuprofen the next. It works better.

To stop the pain fast take an aspirin with caffeine---coke, diet coke. The asprin thins the blood and stops the pain, the caffeine dialates the blood vessels in the brain delivering the aspirin more quickly. This is the main ingredients in Excedrin Migrain--much cheaper.

I have had migraines for years... and for many of these headaches I have used a clothespin and clipped it to my ear lobe or the "web" between my thumb and first finger... works very well for me. I can change the clothespin from side to side or ear to web if it gets to tight.

Freshly squeezed lime juice over a period of a week will do the trick in most cases.

I always get headaches and I just read or watch TV, just get your mind off of your headache and it goes away! Or you can rub a lime or a lemon on your face and suck the juice or eat it, it works very well and gets rid of acne!

Stress and low levels of oxygen in the bloodstream contribute to many headaches. Deep breathing, fresh air, walking (not ambling), yoga and light exercise will help alleviate many problems.

When I get headaches they are usually from tension. I rub my shoulders and neck (up into the hairline) with BioFreeze, and drink a lot of water. They usually go away pretty quickly.

Alternatively you can use an ice bag on the neck and back of the head for 10-15 minutes...

If it has been going on for that long, you really need to be seeing your doctor about it. It could be something as simple as medication side effect, or sinus problems, or it could be something more serious.
Best of luck to you, and I hope your head feels better soon!

I would tell the doctor and run any home remedy by him before you take it to make sure it will not mix the wrong way with what you are taking now.

That being said, here are some ideas from earthclinic.com..

www.earthclinic.com/.../headache3.html

A hundred of the cures will not make any sense, but some of them might.
I would also get rid of any nonstick cookware...long story, but it might help.

Blessings, Robyn

Please see your doctor. He or she will want to know about the headaches. It could be something simple but do go to the doctor.

Are you using artificial sweeteners that contain aspartame? I know first hand of two people who were having severe migraine like headaches and got over them after a month or so, after getting the aspartame out of their systems. It's found in gum, breath fresheners, and diet drinks. If you force yourself to drink plenty of water, this will help to get it out of your system faster. I hope this helps.

I would recommend massage. Sometimes muscles just get tight and produce a low grade pain. If you have someone in your family that can do this that's great. Otherwise find a good masseuse and treat yourself. It may take more than one trip. Best of luck.

If it is allergies that are your problem, wash your hair every evening. I've been doing this for years & it helps to keep pollen off your pillow. I also change my pillowcases every other day. Wash your pillow if you can, too. Best to you! Watch what you use to clean your face as chemicals & fragrances can make you react badly.

Check with a chiropractor, too. Your MD can give you drugs to cover the pain, a chiropractor may have a more permanent natural solution.

Try looking at what you do the day of and the day before your headache. Note what you eat and drink, how well and how many hours you sleep, the weather, the pollen and dust, etc. For me, it was fabric softener. The smell suddenly gave me massive headaches.

I get migraines, and I use lavender essential oil from Young Living. I put a drop of it on a cloth and lay with it under my nose. Breathing in the oil usually takes my headache away.

I agree with the coffee remedy. It is the caffeine. Any drink with caffeine will do. The cream and sugar just make the coffee taste good. Mountain Dew is a very high caffeine drink, for example. Personally, I find that the hot drinks work better than cold ones, but that might be my imagination.

I use ASA which is a drug we have used for decades and has few side effects when used for an occasional headache.

Another technique is to press on your temples as hard as you can for a few minutes. This pressure point is helpful sometimes. You also have pressure points at the base of your skull, on either side of your spine. Pressing on these points is often helpful.

If these are frequent and very bad, you should see a doctor. It could be a symptom of a more serious condition.

I've had migraines for years, meds might ease them sometimes but don't really work that well. I have to lie down in dark and quiet fo an hour or so. I just began Botox treatments which have been shown to help. We'll see.
