Our furbabies love to be in the computer room with us during the day and look out the window. However, with five furbabies, seats at the window used to be a premium. I had my file cabinets under the window so after some thinking, we pulled out the cabinets a little, placed plywood across the cabinets and put a folded blanket on top. We cut the plywood to fit onto the sill area and then wider in front of the window. It is about 2x4. Now all of them have room.

I wanted to add a cat shelf to our kitchen window since we live next to the park. My husband used a regular shelf that he had and "L" brackets for support. You can buy this kind of shelf at a store like Home Depot or Lowes and they are very inexpensive.
