Snow Pea (Melting Sugar)Pictured is the bloom of the snow pea, 'Melting Sugar'. I've grown it for several years. No more. The vines grow at a fast rate and produce an abundance of peas. I just don't find them very palatable, except maybe in stir fry.

Velvet Rose BlossomThis climbing rose blossom is a beauty to behold. It has a velvety dark red appearance to it and when the sunlight hits it each petal glimmers with a red velvet look. The climbing rose bush is attached to a rose arbor that my husband made at the corner of our property.

Brush Pile BunnyI was about to light the brush pile, when I noticed movement. This morning, she was hanging out in the brush pile that I was going to burn before I went into work. The rabbits are decedents of some 4H rabbit projects that got loose a few years ago.

Variegated HostaNot much going on here except that I enjoy observing patterns, shapes, and textures in Nature. This variegated hosta leaf fits the bill in all three categories. I wouldn't turn it down as a wall hanging for a quieter room in the home. Classy!

Yellow IrisI thought I might have lost this iris during a time when I was moving them to a location where the rhizomes would get more sun. I was happily surprised today to find I had not. I don't know it's name. I do know it is the most intense yellow iris I have ever seen.

Clematis NiobeI bought this last year at over half off. Today is the first time to see it bloom. It is not as red as the label shows. As red is not my favorite color, I'm sure I like this better. I'm hoping it will make a nice display from a distance when the vine is covered with blooms.

Beauty of the Sea (Starfish and Shells)I saw this cute starfish as it crawled by where my friends and I stayed for a picnic today. It made me want to take a picture of it along with the shells scattered around. The simple colors of these sea creatures are the true beauty of the sea.

Eastern Bee Balm (Monarda Bradburiana)This variety of Monarda has the common name, 'Eastern Bee Balm'. Its typical range covers the central and southeastern U.S. The blooms are said to be fragrant. Mine are not. However, the leaves when crushed do have a rather strong medicinal scent. Not unpleasant, though.

Serenity of White Sand Beach (Philippines)Since it is summer in my country, the beach is the number one place to be visited by tourists. Aside from the black sand that we have, we are also rich in white sand beaches. It is a fine white sand and a blue green ocean. My Succulent TrollI saw this tip in a magazine. I bought my lovely troll on eBay then followed the instructions to plant succulents in her head. A good pull removed the ball of her hair to begin with. Then I packed the head area with some compost.

Lake Murray Reservoir (CA)This is a beautiful lake to enjoy the birds and wildlife. In addition you could go bicycling, walking, jogging, rollerblading, fishing and even have a picnic with the barbecue set up they have, or bring your own barbecue grill. This is a great lake for fun weekend family activities where you could rent kayaks, boats as well.
