Tip: Cashing In Pocket Change

My husband won't spend change, so we wind up with piles of change on his dresser. Every so often, I'll take it to Coinstar in our grocery store. I found that I can turn the coins into an Amazon e-coupon, for free. I just cash in the coins and then add the code to my Amazon account.

Dollar Tree Coaster as Mouse PadI have this wonderful mouse that I love. But having a slick bottom side on the slick table makes it slip and then my wrist hurts. I use one of these for opening jars and two for under vases. I wondered if it could stop my mouse from slipping. Happily, it does!

For example, I ordered a couple of new books online. The books were not packaged with care and just tossed in an oversized box. Cool Comfortable Sissy BarI made a sissy bar alternative with foam. Now I thought to decorate it more of a biker theme. I used black gorilla tape and printed patches from online on paper then cut them out and affixed them with glue and clear tape to secure. I took a piece of fake jewelry chain to add a more biker look.

Reuse "Clean" Paper TowelsIn our family, if we use a paper towel to dry out clean but wet hands, we put the unwrinkled flattened wet paper towel on the counter to dry. Then we can reuse the relatively clean and now dry paper towel in the garage to check oil levels, clean tools, greasy hands, etc.

Making Litter Box Cleaning EasierWith six cats, I clean litter boxes a lot. I came up with a tip that makes it easier and less messy. I use a small round bathroom size trash can and put a bag inside it. I scoop the dirty litter into the bag inside the can and carry it with me. Saving Chip Bags for GiftsMy family eats chips a lot. I have found that some of their favorites are in bags with a gold or silver surface inside the bag. I save these and use when I want a special bag for small presents. Also sometimes I have a gift in an unusual shape or size. Gift bags are ideal but sometimes they are too small or the paper winds up tearing. My solution is $1 shopping bags at Dollar General or Dollar Tree. They hold more and are more durable.

Before popping it in the freezer, I fill it up with water only halfway, because water expands as it freezes. The percolator had a stuck lever that regulates the strength of the coffee, the cactus necklace had a huge knot in it, and the starfish necklace had the jump ring that closes it stuck in the open position.

Keep Cats Out of Outdoor PlantersTo keep cats from getting into your outside flower pots or planters, I use wooden shish kabob skewers. Insert with the pointed side up into your outside planters or flower pots and cats will think twice about getting into them again. Simple and it works!

Pre-fill Things You Use Every WeekI have these wonderful little jars from Oui' yogurt. I use the generic Splenda from the Dollar Tree. When I get a new box or two, I pre-fill all the jars I have so when I am done with one, I can just grab another.

Save Scrap Paper for NotesClipping coupons can save money but, at the same time, it sometimes wastes paper. I only print out coupons that I will definitely use and sometimes that's just 1 coupon or 2 so, I'm left with a good amount of paper left!
