Tip: Deodorize Clothing with Vodka

A great way to deodorize clothes is to place some vodka in a spray bottle and mist them with it. Hang them to dry and you'll notice all the smells are gone. The vodka kills bacteria and odor, but won't leave an alcohol scent behind. This is great for clothes that you just brought out from storage.

Removing Tar From FabricUse GoJo, Fast Orange, or similar products which are hand cleaners used to dissolve oils or grease. Moisten BOTH sides of the fabric to loosen, dissolve and disperse stain. Work both sides of fabric simultaneously and gently let the product break up the stain. Do not overrub or break down the fabric. When stain has dissolved, wash immediately as normal.

It gives glass items an extra spotless sheen, and apparently it will help completely remove any soap residue on the dishes when you think you've got it all rinsed off, aiding in what you digest in the future.

Dirty towels stored in smaller baskets in the laundry room.

Baskets to Store Dirty Kitchen Towels and SpongesI like to wash some items separately from others. This includes all of my kitchen hand towels, dish sponges, dust cloths, and cleaning rags. To keep them from getting mixed in with the other laundry, I store the used towels/sponges beneath my sink in small dollar baskets.

Cleaning Mold Off of LeatherCleaning mold off leather is easy, using glycerin soap and warm water and a soft rag. Wipe off excess soap with a dry rag, then hang item out in the sun if it's a nice day, or put in the dryer on high heat for 3-5 minutes. Smells great too!

Hygienic ThoughtsBy natural inclination and choice, I keep a tidy and very clean house. For sanitary reason I pay particular attention to the germy areas, being the kitchen and bathroom. I was unpleasantly surprised several weeks ago to see for myself that my bathroom drain hole was gross, there being no other word for it.
