I took this photo on 10-24-07. It was a rainy day and it has turned out to be the best shot I have gotten of this beautiful place. I think it's due to it being a cloudy day.

Snow In The Sky On Christmas DayWe live in York, S C. where our climate is very mild and sometimes we get a dusting of snow. I am sharing this photo that was taken from our car on Christmas Day. The sky is a perfect fluff of snow, or possibly angel wings. We didn't get snow on the ground but how beautiful the sky was, giving an illusion of fluffy pillows that has made fun talk among my family and friends.

Dove Having a Bath - dove in a homemade bird bath
Dove Having a BathWe feed all the birds year round and have many doves. They love to enjoy a bath too. That is our old water pump from years ago, just as added interest to our yard. The bath tub is a bottom of a hot water tank that we cut off. It works perfectly and is the right depth of water for birds and bees!

Seven Magic Mountains (Nevada)
Seven Magic Mountains (Nevada)Here is a beautiful twist on nature. This is a free outdoor exhibit in Nevada called curated by Swiss artist, Ugo Rondinone. This is called Seven Magic Mountains. These boulders were locally sourced and painted, then stacked about 35 feet high. The sun does a beautiful number on these colours, making them radiate against the subtle desert background.

Hidden Waterfall (White Haven, PA)I've been exploring the area. There is a dam and nature preserve nearby that looked inviting. I followed the road about 3 miles and saw a sign for a boat launch. I made my way down, but was disappointed that the water was low. Driving up toward the main road, there was this gorgeous waterfall that I hadn't noticed on my way down!

Doves in a Log Rolling Competition - doves sitting on a log in the river
Doves in a Log Rolling CompetitionWe always had a lot of doves sitting in the trees on our river bank. One day a log drifted down the river and parked itself in front of my yard. The doves found this very interesting and went to investigate. They look like they are having fun!

A bear in a grassy field.
Yearling Bear SightingsThis is a time we see yearling cubs wandering around our property in northeastern Pennsylvania. Mama bears birth their cubs (usually two) and nurse them in their dens their first winter. After a year old (thus the "yearling" term) in the fall the mom encourages them to leave her and forge out on their own.
