This idea was my 7 year old granddaughter's thought. She suggested to me, "Nana, you know how we have an Easter egg hunt?'' 'Why can't we have a Santa Hunt?'" As she stood there with her hand on her hip. (She is quite dramatic). I told her, '"Kate, that is a fun great idea!"

Duct Tape for Hole in ScreenIf you have a hole in your screen and need a quick fix, try this. Cut two pieces of tape a bit larger than the hole. Put one piece outside and one inside. The sticky sides should be facing each other. Works well at keeping flies out. You can get all different types of duct tape. Get one that is closest to the color of your screen.

Save Scraps of Colorful Paper for Scrapbook CardsI always have extra scraps of beautiful paper. I tear them into quarter size pieces for gluing onto cards. They make very pretty additions, to keep in journals, which is what I do with them. This would be fun to do with seasonal wrapping paper too ;)

Birthday and Christmas Gift ListsChildren want a lot of things. When my children were growing up, I would put everything they asked for on a list. Items had to be in our budget to be included on the list. A few weeks before their birthday or Christmas, I would have them look at the list and circle the 3-5 items they wanted the most. This way they would get something they wanted and still have an element of surprise.

So again, it would have blocked the TV. So I came up with this. I made a garland of red, blue, and green paperclips. As you can see, it worked great.

They not only hold a lot of liquid, but other things like rice, pasta, oatmeal, etc. Being a lover of hot cereal at night, I hated to put the cereal in a measuring cup then having to wash it. Adding Mouthwash to ShampooI have some lovely shampoo that leaves my scalp winter-itchy! Recently, I recalled that Listerine-type antiseptic is a good skin conditioner, so I began using it on my face. I had quite a bit left, so mixed it, half-and-half with my shampoo. I also added some drops of tea tree oil. Now, I have a wonderful shampoo that relieves all the itchiness, and leaves my hair feeling wonderful.

How to Store CucumbersPersian and English cucumbers are my absolute favourite from the entire cuke line, but they aren't the cheapest. In order to keep them from going mushy, it's best to keep them as dry as possible. I find they are very happy in paper bags.
