In an effort to regain space in the kitchen, I decided that I needed to find storage places for the various appliances that were cluttering up the counters. Our island has a deep cabinet underneath that wasn't being utilized very well. It works great, but one issue was that I couldn't see what was in the back of the cabinet. I solved this problem by putting labels at the front edges of the shelves. Now I don't have to sit on the floor to know what's back there. Plus it helps remind everyone where everything goes once they are done using it. :)

I never have to worry about storage any longer for my pancake griddle. After I have used it, let it cool, and wiped it off, I put it in a sturdy 13 gallon garbage bag that has handles.
I have a tiny kitchen which lacks cabinet and counter space, which we are working on adding in the future. For now, I put the electric skillet, toaster, juicer, and popcorn maker on top of the fridge.
To keep my small appliances from cluttering my cabinet top, but still handy I keep the box the appliance comes in. These boxes stack neatly in a smaller place. If I don't have the original box, I find one that it will fit in.
I have a very deep corner in my cabinetry where I put a slick linoleum tile on the counter top. I put my blender and my food processor on top of the tile and when I need them I just slide the tile out to the counter edge.

You can choose the appliances you use the most, keep them easily available and store the rest in another accessable location. In our last house, I stored several less used small appliances in the dining room.
If you have a hall or laundry room, get one of those plastic Plano shelf units for about 15.00 and snap it together in about 5 minutes. Keep them in there till you need them.
My kitchen is small as well and I took a cabinet that was on the bottom and put my crock pot in it. A few storage bowls and a blender. Try it.
For now, put a sticky on each appliance with the current date and it will tell you how often you use it. Often times a bowl and a wooden spoon will do and less washing up.
