I am 53 yrs. old and live in a small rural farming community. I love to create things out of whatever is handy. I also love photography and gardening. I drive through town on trash day to see if there's anything I can refurbish or make something out of. Most people wouldn't want to live my life, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Farmer Halloween Costume (Wheelchair)A large painted cardboard box is all you need! My husband is paralyzed and said that he couldn't wear a Halloween costume. But, wheelchairs can make a great costume.
Craft: Mooning ScarecrowScarecrow for Halloween. Build a frame out of wood. Dress and stuff with hay. Add a few pumpkins. Great for doubletakes from passers-by.
Yard SpidersWe had just cleaned out grapevines in the backyard, so I thought, I should make something. Spiders came to mind for Halloween. I cut the lengths I wanted, nailed them to a piece of 2x4 and stuffed a black trashbag and nailed it on top. Glitter for the eyes. Large spiders in the yard, spoooky.
Snowbelle (White Rabbit)Snowbelle is a white rabbit. My granddaughter Summer, wished she had a dog to take for a walk, but her Paw Paw got her a free rabbit instead. She didn't mind taking her rabbit for a walk (or a jump) around the yard. Who says you can't "play" with a rabbit?
Making Christmas Presents From Fabric...We all know how expensive Christmas giving can be. My husband and I live on a disability check. He fell and broke his back 3 years ago, and I stay home and take care of him. We had to change the way we live, only necessities now. But I have grandchildren that need Christmas gifts.
Memory Jar For Mother's DayWhen last Mother's Day rolled around, I thought my mother would enjoy reading my own remembrances. I took a decorative glass jar with a lid and made a "Jar of Childhood Memories" for her to read.
