I am Earthly Angel Mom from Down in the Boondocks, Kentucky. Yeah, I'm a Bluegrass gaI! I find this website so intriguing and extremely helpful; and I am looking forward to interacting and sharing ideas with others.
I am a disabled, single Christian lady - age 63, silver hair, hazel eyes, 5'3", and of average build. I know how to pinch a penny until it cries!! Being one of seven sisters, needless to say, I came into the world poor; and I will probably leave this world the same way. No silver spoon in my mouth; but I'm not complaining. I'd have to say the challenges of life have made me an appreciative, stronger, honest, and better person, by helping me to relate with other people who have limited incomes. I mean, how can you miss something you've never had, right??
I enjoy taking used 'bargain' items (yeah, and dirty... and then scrubbing and cleaning until I have them sparkling and shining like new. Momma always said, "A little hard work never hurt nobody;" and you know something, she was right!! I'm not afraid one bit of having to use a little 'elbow grease'!!
I know how to make something out of nothing; how to stretch the food budget to feed unexpected guests; and whenever I have leftover month at the end of my money, even then, I can still manage!
Reckon one could say I am a miser because I have no money to waste; but, even in that situation, I've never had to do without because all I've ever known is how to pinch pennies by managing well...and I'm a firm believer in God...and I know that He provides!'
I'm always looking for that unusual bargain...the kind that is just too hard to resist. People say to me, "It doesn't matter how late you arrive at a yard sale, because there's always something still there for you...because you always buy things that no one else wants, or is even interested in." Yes, I like unusual things (even some things that I have no idea what they are)...after all, it makes a great conversation piece!!! Yeah, I'm definitely a spendthrift; and I'm not too proud to admit it!!
During summer months, you'll always find me hitting every yard sale within a 10 mile radius. I live, think, dream, and shop yard sales!! It's my life!! That's just the way I am!! What do I do during the winter months, you might be wondering. Well, there's always the good ole' Goodwill, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, church bazarres, fund-raising events, and rummage sales. Yep, I can always find 'em!
