Dont know what is causing it, maybe a slight clog somewhere between the kitchen and bathroom? Have you tried pouring some baking soda and vinegar down the drain? This usually works in my kitchen sink.

I have a bacon tray for the microwave and I love it. Place bacon on tray, cover with a paper towel and cook until desired crispness.

If the first ingredient in your dogs food is corn, change brands. Make sure corn is not the first ingredient. Our German Shepard had the same problem. When we changed food, his coat was beautiful and flake free.
