I'm a 70 yr. old gramma and great gramma of 3. I live way out in the country. We live in a hollow of perhaps 20 acres on our 200 acre property. Most of the land is hills and hollows, and covered in forest. We are very sheltered here and enjoy our solitude. No traffic beeps and blasts or neighborhood noises of any kind. Step outdoors here in the evening and you'll hear frogs, crickets, an ocassional owl, and mostly quiet.
Last year I completed the Wilton Cake decorating course and have been enjoying doing all sorts of cakes for my large extended family. I just did a birthday/promotion cake for my 29 yr old grandson, a birthday cake for my 87yr old father-in-law, and a couple dozen St. Patrick's Day cupcakes with fondant shamrocks on top, for the guys who work with my husband. Been baking up a storm this past few days and am about out my stock of royal icing flowers. One day real soon I'll need to set aside to make up a new batch.
I'd enjoy hearing from anybody else who's a baker, or who enjoys or wishes she could enjoy life in the country. We don't have any livestock to tend to, but do have 5 dogs, all strays who have just wandered up here from time to time and adopted us.
My other hobbies are crocheting and knitting.
