Along Florida's Forgotten CoastThese photos were taken while visiting my parents one December. The beach was deserted and cool; the perfect day to walk and explore! My husband and I came across these wonderful old Cypress skeletons which reminded me of an ancient, other-worldly realm.
Nature Walk at Anna Ruby Falls (GA)The majestic Anna Ruby Falls is located within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in North Georgia. This past August, during the heat and drought of the summer, my husband and I found it so refreshing to escape to the paved 0.4-mile footpath which leads from the parking lot to the base of the falls.

As a creative individual with limited funds, I have scoured thrift shops for years on the hunt for bargains. When my sons were young I clothed them in second-hand, like-new clothes that saved us so much money and they looked great! I would look for interesting things, like t-shirts with cool graphics that could be cut and appliqued onto jeans, etc. to create entirely new and original looks.
Bzzz - Bee on Celosia PlantThese very tall Celosia plants were grown from pass-along seeds from our mechanic's wife. I have never seen these in the nurseries. The bees are oblivious to me and my camera as they happily swarm and devour the nectar. They are endlessly entertaining!

Salvia Guaranitica For HummingbirdsI was given this wonderful pass-along plant, Salvia guaranitica. I was told the common name was "Hummingbird Plant" and now I know why! This fabulous and beautiful plant has long, tubular blossoms that attracts hummingbirds.
Angel's TrumpetAs a family historian and Find A Grave contributor, I spend lots of time in old cemeteries. They are comforting, beautiful places to me; places to contemplate life and the lives of those who came before us. On any given day, walking through some of these lovely old places can yield the most surprising finds!
