I moved to TX for the weather- ---couldn't take the cold and snow anymore-----for the most part I do enjoy the weather. I rasied my 3 children here. I will retire here and die here.

I have 2 grandchildren who I watch during the week and work part time. I also own a Pet Sitting business.

I really enjoye the pets. My customers always tell me their pet's bad habits and worry when they leave them. I always say, don't worry they will be fine I am a stranger and they behave better with strangers. It is true cause I never have had a problem in my years as a sitter with behavior. I guess because I am good at what I do.

I enjoy my flower gardens more now that I am only working part time because it does take up a lot of time but it is worth it. I took a stained glass course and I dabble in that.

I like to take photos of everything. Lucky things are now digital and it is a lot more convenient I store everything on the computer which I think is so awesome---just remember to back up everything.

I have friends that don't want to retire and could, They feel they will be bored. I have so much to do everyday I am never bored. I can always find something to fill my day. I do stay very busy. Don't get me wrong I do take a day to VEG out every so often.

A Big Bug? No a Hummingbird!I was sitting outside hand feeding my favorite squirrel. This usually keeps her out of my bird-feeder when I heard this thump and felt something hit the side of my leg. Looking down I thought, WOW, what a huge bug. I reached down to pick it up and throw it into the grass when I realized it was a hummingbird.

The Christmas Tree GrinchMy father bought our Christmas tree every year on Christmas Eve. My father, well, he was a bit of a Grinch when it came to purchasing a tree. He didn't want to spend money for a tree that was only going to be up for one week. It was his money; after all, we were spending.

A German-American ThanksgivingMany immigrants from different countries that arrive in America make Thanksgiving festivities to fit in with their own cultures. I think that is wonderful. We are free in this country to celebrate Thanksgiving any way that is special to each of us.
