I really believe that you are the first line of defense in your health and happiness. In believing that I do what I can to eat Organic food as I see it an investent in my future health not an increase in groceries. I also see it as an oppurnity to give back since I buy local when ever possible. I feel that we need to feed ourselves as simple as possible. What I mean by that is the less ingredients in a food the better it usally is for you. You should know what everything in your food is if you dont you should not eat it. The most important thing is eat real food. People look at me like I am crazy when I say that but people each and every day eat non food substances all the time great example is wrapped cheese slices or velvetta cheese. How about margarine that is not food either. It is suprising to know that many people do not know that there is no milk in margaine. I grow what food I can in my raised beds and my own herbs as well. I make my own compost out of our food. Why pay for fertalizer when we just throw it away all the time. By making the choice to eat this way I have becam healthier and so has my family. We have lost weight and actually became more active as well. I wish that everyone would see the benefits of this as a life style. If enough people demaned better quality food that was healthy for us not just cheap the organic food would cost less eventually. Just think about that. The last thought I want to leave you with is; Why are we able to buy an entire meal with drink for $3.97 at burger king or McDonalds and others like that when we can not even buy a bag of apples for that or a head of broccoli? In the cost of that $3.97 there is no cooking or cleaning thus reducing your cost even more, but it is destorying your health and our planet, does that justify the $3.97 savings I dont think so.
