My daughter has an ulcer on her ankle from getting injections for spider veins. The doctor told her he could remove the ulcer, and she would have only a couple of stitches. She ended up with 17, and he took out too much skin from the ankle. The last one is 1 year old this month.

Strangely enough, try honey. It has been getting a lot of attention lately as a way to help stubborn wounds to heal. There is an article that you can read here:
www.dermnetnz.org/
Google "honey wound care" to find more articles about honey to treat wounds.
The honey must be raw. Not processed...you can get it at food coops and online. It will sterilize and grow back flesh. I used it with cinnamon morning and night.
Powder Alum is a very good healer, I keep it all the time & put it on everything that hurts. Put 1 teaspoon in a cup of water, apply it to the cut 3 or 4 times a day. Sounds like she needs to go to a Dr. for the swelling, she might have a blood clot, that is very bad news if she does. I had this with a broken leg at the ankle, almost died. Get the alum at a drug store in the back, if they don't have it ask them to order some. 3 oz to a bottle is very reasonable. Good luck and let us know how she is doing, ok?
