Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan with butter. Press brown sugar into bottom of pan. Spread ketchup over sugar and set pan aside.
Put ground beef, onions, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and ginger into a large bowl and mix together. Beat eggs and milk together in another bowl, add to meat mixture, and mix with your hands until just combined. Shape meat into a loaf, put into the prepared loaf pan, then gently press to fill pan.
Bake meat loaf until well browned on top, about 1 hour. Set aside to let rest until most of the pan juices have been absorbed back into meat loaf, about 10 minutes. Drain off remaining juices, then carefully invert meat loaf onto a serving platter.
