I need to make a fence out of cardboard to use as a decoration for VBS at church. Any ideas? Templates? Same for a cactus, too.

Go to a paint or hardware store, and see if they'll give you a bunch of paint stir sticks. They have them in small sizes (1" x 12" for gallon paint cans) and larger sizes (approximately 2" x 18" for 5-gallon buckets). You can glue these onto colored posterboard with 2-3" spaces between to resemble a picket fence. They are usually printed on one side, but are plain on the other and can easily be painted white.
Try using light blue posterboard to resemble a blue sky, or green posterboard to resemble grass. Hope this helps!
To make cactus, I would use styrofoam spray-painted green and stick wooden toothpicks in it.
Do you have access to a projector like those used in a classroom? I find a black and white photo (usually in a coloring book or teacher clip art book-maybe your word processing software clip art) and print it onto transparency.
