Blue? With Sage? How about a complimentary green? Maybe a little darker than the carpet? Get some samples at your home improvement store and see how different colors work with your carpet. Or get some samples of different paint colors and put some on the walls-maybe opposite a window and other areas that might not get a lot of light. Wait until it dries and look at it at different times of the day to see how the light affects it. Think about your bed linens and accessories and tie your wall color/carpet in with those.

One website I visited stated royal blue, but I think that's too dramatically bold for a bedroom for me. A blue-gray would look good as there is gray in the sage. Purple and blue also compliment well with sage. Check out the Tuscany colors over the 'net.

You should get a good idea of the shade of blue that goes best and by looking at "Italian oil paintings" on the 'net as another option of finding the right color of blue.

Your greatest color pallet source is your pantry. Company's spend millions of dollars every year to market their product and color combinations are a huge part of that. Take a swatch of your carpet with you to the grocery store or home furnishing store and see what appeals to you. You should be able to identify main wall color, plus 2 accent colors. Remember to repeat each color 3 times for balance.

Because sage green is in the warm color family, if you use blue, it needs to be a warm blue (grey-blue).

First off you should find a comforter or bedspread with a floral or stripe or some kind of pattern with a blue and the sage color. Then take that bed cover to the paint store and match a shade of that blue. You may want to go lighter, just stay with that shade in the bed cover. Good luck.

Sage and tan are great together too. You can go to a home improvement store and use their computer to set up colors for the main room as well at furniture, and then try colors for the paint.

Good Luck
