It turns out the same every time!
One of the reasons I love this recipe is you can be assured it works every time. My mom taught me this one early on, and I have never used any other recipe since.
Take 1 cup flour, add 1/2 cup shortening, and 1/4 cup water, with a pinch of salt. Mix with fork or pastry cutter till smooth, roll and use for top or bottom.
Each recipe makes just one top or bottom, so mix and double accordingly.
Note: If you are making more than one pie, make an extra recipe and do what we did. We would cut the crust in strips, brush with a little bit of milk, then bake with sugar and cinnamon on top. Oh, that was the treat that came from helping mom in the kitchen, they were all for me! N-JOY!

Sift together flour, sugar and salt. Add shortening and mix well. Add egg, vinegar and water; mix until well blended. Place in covered bowl and store in refrigerator. This will keep for 2 weeks or longer.
