Cheerio is 9 year old Shetland pony, and Maggie is a 5 year old Arabian X. Cheerio was delivered Christmas day a couple of years ago, with a big red ribbon on his halter. The grandchildren were all thrilled, but we all know it was really Granny who has the most fun with him.
Cheerio is always so good with the kids. Our friends love to bring their kids and grandkids for a ride around our yard. My oldest granddaughter learned to actually ride him on her own last summer and he just walked wherever she asked; never running away with her.
Maggie started her life in a petting zoo going to exhibitions. She was terrified when we got her and it took a long time to get her to be the gentle girl she is today. Today Maggie is so gentle with everyone. She is the horse everyone wants to pet, and she is the first to come to the fence for a carrot.
In this picture the two have let themselves into a old goat shed I didn't think they would go in. See how Maggie is sticking out her tongue at me as if to say "nah-nah".

They make a nice pair. and they must both be pretty good-natured now if they are that friendly
to one another. We once had a pony and a horse who didn't get along at all when we first got them, but it wasn't
too long before I think the pony thought the mare was his mother, and every time one of the kids rode him (Rebel), he'd go back to the barn where Dolly (the mare ) was. He never wanted to leave her side. We could never figure him out.
Cheerio and Maggie are both fine looking pets.
Lucky you! Thanks for sharing them with us.
