Preheat oven to 425 degrees F Coat asparagus with oil and roast at 425 F for approximately 8 minutes. Lower temperature to 375 F degrees and using a basting brush, spread mayonnaise over the asparagus; sprinkle with bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese. Bake until the bread crumbs and cheese are golden brown, about 15 minutes. Optional: Turn on the broiler for the last few minutes.
Source: The original recipe (allrecipes.com) said to steam the asparagus but I decided to roast it instead, as other reviewers of the recipe had done.
