How can I take apart and fix a VHS rewinder?

Use a screw driver, remove screws. Pry open the plastic casing. Look inside see what looks dammaged. Most like the "belt: is faulty, may be broken. Circuit board may be burned out.
I just opened mine. I had to pry it open, minimal broken damage. It just needed cleaning of dust, lint. The belt needed cleaning and the cogs/spindles needed some oil also.
