After stepping in diesel fuel at a gas pump (I thought it was regular gas), I checked your site for how to get it off the bottom of my suede boots. I put baking soda on the soles and then placed them on paper towels that I put a coating of baking soda on. I let them set there and checked for smell every week or so. Finally, after a month, the smell was gone! Using an old dry toothbrush (I recycle them for cleaning sinks, faucets, etc.) I cleaned off the baking soda then wet the toothbrush to clean the soles again. I hated the thought of tossing out my favorite boots.
