My Beagle came back from hunting with a rash on her underside. It then developed into a strep infection requiring antibiotics, in a couple of days. We bathed her with medicated shampoo when she arrived home.
I am concerned about the antibiotics she has to take. Any suggestions?

Strep needs antibiotics as it is dangerous I would consult with a vet on this..you don't want to mess with strep!

Don't be afraid of the antibiotics, it will heal your dog. Strep, as Robyn said, is dangerous. Treat your dog's health as you would yours, and don't mess around.
The risk any of us, human, canine or otherwise, accept when taking prescribed antibiotics and the very slim chance of adverse reaction to them if there's no previous history of allergies pales in comparison to what untreated strep can do to your dog.
Sometimes, trying to save a buck with home remedies when more expensive options will do the job. Doesn't make sense. If the dog doesn't get the meds and the condition worsens, you could be looking at a lot more spent at the vet and a critically ill, or deceased pet.
