We are considering a vacation in North Dakota and Teddy Roosevelt National Park in late July/early August and would appreciate any ideas on fun activities for a family with a pre-teen boy and a partly-disabled adult included (difficulty walking). How about suggestions for lodging too? Thanks!

North Dakota has just had the worst flood in quite sometime so make sure that you actually call the places you want to stay. Don't rely on websites since they may not be updated. I believe Minot has been hit worse than other cities. I would check out any place near the Souris River that you had planned to visit with a phone call first. Have fun.
