ohhhh that does sound good Trudy but down here in the south our BTS cake always, always, always must contain pecans, lots of cool whip and chocolate! And it is so good you'll know why! Versions vary according to the cook but this is one of them.
BETTER THAN SEX CAKE
1 cup flour
One-half cup softened butter or margarine
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup powdered sugar
6 ounces of instant chocolate pudding
3 cups milk
1- 8 ounce Cool Whip (thawed)
1 - 8-ounce cream cheese
6 ounce vanilla pudding
1 large Hershey chocolate bar
1- 8 ounce Cool Whip (thawed)
Mix flour, oleo and pecans; press into a 9 inch X 13 inch pan. Bake 15 minutes and COOL. In large bowl mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until fluffy, fold in 8 ounce Cool Whip. Spread this over cooked crust. Combine pudding mixes and 3 cups milk, beat well until thickened and spread over cheese layer. Spread last 8 ounce Cool Whip over pudding layer. Chill several hours and garnish with shaved chocolate. Cut into squares to serve.
Trudy, I'm guessing that you put the whipped topping in the pudding mix before putting it on top of the cake. Right? Or do you put it on top of the pudding?
You put the whipped topping on last - on top of pudding. Just a note: a few weeks ago we had a family get together party for our grandson who left for Iraq the 23rd and our youngest daughter designed the top (on top of the whipped topping) an American Flag - it was beautiful and the strawberries and blueberries added to the taste.
Dr R, your comment is not cute or funny at all. It's had to imagine a doctor with so many specialties would have time or inclination to browse and comment on a cake recipe.
