Put Gravel Under Outdoor Faucet

You can keep an outdoor faucet or pump from turning the surrounding area to mud, if you dig out a hole beneath the water spout and replace the soil with rocks or gravel.

What a great & simple idea! Why didn't I ever think of that? Thanks!

That's a fantastic idea! We had put bricks down in a large area under the spigot but the grass just grows up through them creating an even worse mess. I'm going to take your suggestion and put gravel down! Going to line it though first so that the grass doesn't come back up through it again.

A cement pad, like the ones that fit under a gutter drain, works well too.
