Sorry, what do you mean by rolling the ground cover up and under to avoid wetness? I'm trying to picture it.
In your article you state:
"try to camp on the side of the hill or under a large expanse of trees to minimize lightning hazards."
If I remember correctly, most all I've ever heard was to avoid trees in the event of lightning. I experienced a campout as a preteen where we could see quite a light show bouncing around the trees just a few feet away from our tents. I'm not so sure being among those trees would have been the safest place to be (we went to the car as we had nowhere to go when the game warden told us to evacuate the park).
I think this might be something one would want to check out further.
Your article has great information/ideas...but just wanted to bring the lightning issue to light (pardon the pun) to remind readers to make their own decision/research.
"rolling the ground cover up and under to avoid wetness" just means that if you use a tarp under the tent, you don't want it to stick out and collect water when it rains, so roll it up and tuck it under the tent.
