These "strawberries" make a very appealing presentation for buffets or as a party food. They are scrumptious and so easy to make.
Mix dry Jello into milk. Add coconut, vanilla, and salt.
Let stand several hours or overnight.
Form balls of the coconut mixture and shape into strawberries. Color the granulated sugar with a few drops of red food coloring.
Roll the strawberries in the sugar to coat them.
Add 2 small leaves on top of each berry for an authentic look. (You may use boxwood sprigs or cake icing.)
