Updates on Your Answering Machine

When my husband underwent open-heart surgery in an out-of-town hospital, many friends and family were anxious to receive updates on his condition. Since I was staying at a hotel near the hospital, there was nobody at home to answer the phone. I left messages on our home answering machine about any news I had and told people to feel free to call anytime day or night while we were away.

What a wonderful idea! Very considerate of concerned family and friends. I wish it had occurred to me when my DH was undergoing his surgeries a couple of years ago.

This is a nice idea but for safety reasons, I would not indicate in the message(s) that no one was at home.
