I am looking for a site where you can get free canning labels to download and type in the jar contents. I found several that say free but really are not. Thanks.

You didn't look hard enough, I had no problem in finding the following websites:

Try www.freeprintables.com they have everything and then some and it is free.
You could use your word processor to make them. Just type in what you want, print it out then cut the lables apart.
