Great idea, Laniegirl! :-)
All my equipment is attached to a surge protector laying on the floor behind my desk. In order for this to work for me I'd have to place the surge protector on my desk. Same with my modem and I don't have room for it on my desk either. This is a good idea for some though.
I use surge protectors a lot. I usually try to find a way to attach them to the side of my surface, or underneath. Then, I use the clips and other things to keep my cable ends handy. To attach my Surge protector, I have tried the velcro, but have trouble with it sticking. I have tied them to legs or supports with a strip of elastic or t-shirt. I try not to use metal wire because I don't want to take a chance on "catching" the electricity.
