I have bought a couple of "craft cutter" mink coats from ebay to make teddy bears out of, but the fur needs to be cleaned. Could someone tell me what kind of product to buy to clean the fur in, so that I don't have to take it to an expensive furrier. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just read that if you rub in cornmeal, then brush it out.... it should help clean it.
Ive used cornmeal on several fur trimmed collars and cuffs. While it has no real cleansing agents, it does absorb surface moisture and soils that can be shaken out and brushed. I recommend using just a light dusting of cornmeal or youll spent a significant amount of time cleaning up cornmeal after cleaning your fur.
The cornmeal did absorb the snow & soil from my cuffs, which is my most common problem. Oatmeal also works as it too absorbs moisture. Just dont use the flavored oatmeal or youll smell like maple syrup or apples and cinnamon.
