(L) Spice is 11 years old, (R) Ayudais one year old, (front) Dicha, and (back) Chacota are 3 years old. We adopted all but one of these cats from animal shelters. That exception to our method of acquisition is our "wild kitten" Ayuda, who appeared on our acreage early one morning with pathetic mewing fully employed. Our ever-loving Labrador, who found her, wanted us to keep her.
The three younger cats love getting into mischief while the older cat, who was in the family for years with no other animals roaming her space, finds herself needing to dredge deeply into her soul for adequate patience on a daily basis.
In the photo, what has such rapt interest of all four cats?!
Well, it's the spellbinding new addition to our animal menagerie; two finches in a cage on a very tall stand as enforcement of the "look, don't touch" policy.
