Calendula is the flower for the October born. It grows here in CA from spring to fall. It has the habit of re-blooming for several months with flowers getting smaller. It reseeds itself, but if you gather the seeds and broadcast them for next year, you will have so many more flowers.

I grow calendula (pot marigold) in my garden each year. The blossoms are useful in making extracts to use for insect bites or cuts and scrapes. The butterflies and bees spend a lot of time enjoying the many plants.
