This has worked for me in the past, hope it works for you. If the wood is warped or bubbled up above the surface, use a sharp knife to gently scrape the excess wood away. With extra-fine sandpaper, go over the area, working with the grain of the wood.
If the burned area has a gouge, you can use wood filler and follow the directions on the can to level it out. finish by using a furniture repair marker or crayon to mach the original finish.
