Dry Out Paint Before Adding To Trash

I open the cans and let the paint dry out and dispose of in the trash. I haven't needed to do this in Ocean City, so I am not sure of their legal disposal rules, which is probably the best place to start. Make sure you're "green"!

Editor's Note: Many local areas have recycling programs for paint. Check with your waste disposal company to find out the correct procedures for disposal.

Our city used to take paint during their annual recycle drive, but they quit. Instead, they tell you to let it dry out & put it in the trash. What they recommend is to stir kitty litter or sand into it, so that it dries it quicker, into a chunk that isn't as bad in the landfill as wet paint would be.
