You will need one pound of sugar, one gallon of water, and a 1/4th packet of regular yeast. Heat water in a pot till boiling and add sugar to melt, then pour in a gallon jug, such as clean milk container or other kind of jar.
Let cool, then put in yeast, cover with aluminum foil and let set for 2 weeks, then strain and bottle. You can then add flavor if you want, such as tea, or whatever you want.
Don't close tops too tightly on the bottle, wait until it stops working the yeast off, or it will explode. It should be ready in about 2 more weeks, add more sugar if not sweet enough.

What's the old adage? If it sounds too good to be true...
First, you're setting yourself up for possible illness from bacteria with these instructions and especially by using plastic milk jugs. You must use glass and even then the glass must be sterilized first, not just washed.
Second, sorry to sound mean but this no fruit recipe sounds similar to rot gut made from a still :-(
I'm confused as to this being wine. I've never heard of tea-flavored wine. Plus as Deeli said, I would never use plastic for something like this.
Gee, this recipe truly baffles me. Sounds absolutely horrid and downright poisonous. I can't see why anyone would make such a concoction, much less drink it.
I can't believe some of these comments. What sounds poisonous about boiled water with yeast in it? That's how wine is made. My husband has been making wine for years, from 5 - 20 gallons at a time in plastic containers. When you go to a wine making supply shop you will see plastic containers for fermenting it in. When it's done you bottle it in glass. You can make wine out of anything. Fruit, fruit cocktail, raisins, rose hips, and even tea if you wish. A friend of ours made some out of garlic to use as a marinade.
Apparently none of you with your bad remarks have ever drank wine, beer or any other alcoholic beverage! You should research how this stuff is made to be sold in stores before downing someone for what has never made them sick.. jeeez!
I learned in my studies as a dietary manager that if you are used to eating or drinking something made and handled differently, you build up a sort of immunity to it, whereas it could cause someone not used to it, to be sick.
Husband has been making wine for several years, will try this recipe in one of our "batches".
And, no, it won't make you sick. Although the alcohol content is higher. :-)
Sugar and water do not make wine. The yeast would die. Their is no nutrients. Seriously this is the worst post ever
It is a small world, I make wine myself and when I saw your address from Statesboro
Does the bottle you make your wine in have to glass?I'm comfused about it.
