I live in a small town, and things can be expensive here. I have been buying a lot of things I need online from a popular online auction site. I mean, things like wool socks, sewing patterns (cheaper than W-mart), vacuum cleaner bags, craft supplies, printer ink, tools, you name it. I bought electric toothbrush refill brushes for less than half of what we would pay retail, and they were coming from England! I look for items with free shipping or lowest price including shipping.
It sure saves a lot of 30-mile trips into the nearest city, and saves time running around looking. Also, I find that if I stay out of the stores, I spend less money overall, because there are fewer impulse purchases.

Hi and I agree even though I live in a fairly large city. I can stll find many things cheaper on line and it does not take gas!
I have also started selling some of my "unnecessary" items for some extra cash.
I like the article you shared with Thrifty Fun. I would also look at what popular on line auction site? I am disabled so I can't get out as frequently as others and saving coupons I've never done well with. Any more suggestions? Thank you, Pam
That is great advice! We live in a rural area, and even though we have 2 grocery stores, and now a super-center, there are still many things that is cheaper to order online, than try driving all over, or to the next towns, to try to find.
