Instead of using cling wrap to cover food or leftovers in the frig, I use a clear shower cap that has elastic. This can be washed and reused many times and is much easier to remove from containers than the clingwrap.

Never use anything for food storage that wasn't intended for food. Todays plastics are toxic and the ones meant for food are made differently than household products.
A friend gave me a package of these a few years ago and I love them. She got them from Starcrest.com You may know them, they send an envelope full of products quite often in the mail. I just looked them up online and these Fitted Bowl Covers are on sale at $3.00 for a package of 50.
I agree with Lilac. Only use the covers that are specifically made to cover bowls of food.
