Squirt Bottles as Toys

My daughter-in-law told me about this one. My family is adamantly against guns and we didn't even feel comfortable letting the kids have squirt guns! So she decided to buy those cheap squirt bottles like you find at the drugstore and Walmart and let her kids use those for squirting water. They love it and it doesn't compromise our values!

Here's another idea that's really fun for kids (of all ages, LOL). Insert a string through the top of the squirt bottle. Tie a knot at each end so it won't come out. Thread the string down into the bottle. Then when you SQUEEZE, the string comes flying out, but only as far as the knot at the end. This is an especially fun "prank" if you have a yellow mustard bottle, red ketchup bottle, white or green dish liquid bottle, put the same colored string in there. Kids (of all ages) can pretend they're squirting people with ketchup, mustard or soap.

For fun "squirt gun" fun use empty dish soap bottles. This is a good way to recycle the bottles and not have to throw them away without a second use.
