Does anyone know the saying that goes with a "gift" that is just something wrapped (empty box, piece of wood, etc.)? It is meant to be given to someone who needs comforting or encouragement.

This is a very special gift
That you can never see;
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you from me.
Whenever you are lonely
Or even feel blue,
You only have to hold this gift
And know I think of you.
You never can unwrap it.
Please leave the ribbon tied.
Just hold the box close to your heart,
It's filled with love inside.
An empty gift is, to me, a disapointment to the receiver and a cutesy sentiment on the part of the giver,and a useless dust-collector besides. Write a heartfelt note instead or give some of your time to the recipient-it shows a lot more class.
I received an empty gift box, small & flat, wrapped with love, gold shiny paper, a red ribbon glued to it & the bow was a small budding red (me & my mom RIP share Rosetta as a middle name) Rose is our trademark. That gift was given to me at a time in my life that bouquet of flowers sadden me, words eluded me, & comfort was being alone with my memories. He sat next to me, not saying a word. He didn't look at me or touch me..letting me kno he wud there. After 5 min or so he left me to sit in my own world & grieve in my own way. I watched his back as he walked away...
How many wrapped up packages do you see at Christmas time? Of Course we all assume they are empty? Does anyone care? But does somebody keep stairing at the box, trying to figure out wha it is, by playing Fair?
Jennifer...sounds like you need some encouragement...look into the heart of the giver. Have a blessed day! Jesus lives you and so do i!

How about words of comfort from the Bible? I find the scriptures really help me find hope in my toughest times.
