Make a paste out of baking soda and water and scrub it in. Let it dry, then vacum it up. You might need to use a brush while vacuming.

I purchase enzymatic cleaners such as Nature's Miracle or Petzyme at the petstores. It is pretty good stuff.

I was just told a new method though, that may work for you. Pour plenty of baking soda on the soiled carpet, and wet it with water into a paste. Scrub it into the carpet.

Pour a 2L container of club soda on top of the soda mixture. Cover it with an old, thick, heavy towel, and leave it be for about four days to dry. Don't rub it or anything.

Apparently the bubbling soda works the mess up into the towel. The towels absorbs what is purged from the carpet and keeps it from being reabsorbed. The soda deodorizes everything.

Good luck!
