My wife has several sets of kitchen tongs she uses occasionally while preparing meals. They are usually tangled with each other and once in a while I will see one of the pairs sailing across the kitchen. My solution was to grab a couple empty TP cardboard tubes and slide the tongs inside.

Love this idea!
I taught my son to do this, and he took it a bit farther by buying a roll of Contact Paper and wrapping kitchen roll tubes. He said looking into the drawer at toilet paper rolls holding his tongs was unappealing, lol, considering some of his and his roommates bathroom habits.
I use tie wraps and wrap around the tongs works wonders and takes up no extra space.
I use rubber bands, but this ideal is nice. A paper towel roll could be used also.
Good idea, but I think I would use paper towel rolls and cut to size, especially since you are talking about things that come in contact with food. They say tp rolls have lots of germs on them, because they normally hang close to the toilet where everytime you flush germs go up into the air and hit the tp roll.
John, what a terrific idea! I've used the tip for the embarrassing amount of cords that we've somehow accrued over the years, but I've never seen a tip for those annoying tongs that inevitably jam up my kitchen drawer. Very clever! And now I have a new reason to save toilet paper and paper towel rolls.
