Setting Color in Cloth

Use 2 Tbsp. turpentine and 1 small handful of salt. Pour boiling water over this mixture. Put garment or cloth in and saturate. Let it soak until the water gets cold.

I'm afraid of the turpentine staining the fabrics. I think I have heard of salt used in holding color. Any comments on the turpentine? Thanks!

This is VERY successful. I used it on Tomato Red Polo shirt which bled EVERY TIME.. even a drop of water made it bleed.

I've got a flannel sheet w/ print on it I want to keep vivid.but it's also too big so I was gonna try to shrink it before I alter it. Wondering if the hot water would fade the beautiful print Insight, anyone? Please?
