My nephew's elementary school collects all kinds of bottle caps and gets some kind of money for them. We always put our bottle caps is a basket and when we see Jacob we give them to him. They take every kind of bottle cap as long as it has a screw top, so I put in everything large or small from any bottles we use. Maybe you could check with your school to see if they know about this program.

Editor's Note: According to Snopes, there are no charities that accept plastic bottle caps, they are worthless. Some companies will collect them for recycling, such as Aveda. There are also recycling programs for bottle caps. Check with your local waste management company or municipal offices for more information.

I save my bottle caps in a large juice bottle. It will hold about 100 caps. I also saved an empty square tissue box and put caps in them. If I knock the bottle over, none spill out and they are easy to transport in the bottle.
I also save mine in large juice bottles and Kleenex boxes
Where do you transport them to? Who takes them?
Comment to Editors Note: TheThreadLady from Eden Prairie, MN is correct.
Coke Rewards has a charity program associated with their full product line bottle caps. A code is on the inside of the cap, and when entered online, points are accumulated. Points can be converted to school donations. Points can also be awarded from the code on the inside of 12-pack and 24-case boxes. This program has been going on for several years.
"~... I'd like to teach the world to sing ...~"
But they only need the code, and you still have the bottle cap to do something with, is that right?
Another use for these juice/bottle caps..Areas of headstart can use as teaching tools. Creating checkers game, bingo, etc.

Coca Cola bottle caps and cartons can be put into MY COKE REWARDS and select free items in return
I wonder if kindergarten teachers could use them for some kind of craft. Teachers have to spend their money for supplies and they might help
Bottle caps are not worthless. Some schools may collect them for special projects. I teach at a senior center and we use them in crafts. My granddaughter went to an art camp last summer in NC and they used all sorts of plastic bottle caps in their art work.

Green Tree Plastics in Evansville, Indiana, does have a program for schools and youth groups to save plastic caps that are then made into benches or tables for the school playground. There is also a monetary cost for the product in addition to the certain poundage of caps.

Overall, let's reduce our consumption of ALL plastic. This thread is about crafts from these nonrecyclable items. Sometimes preschool teachers appreciate having enough of a particular supply so everyone can do the projects .
Back when this auntie posted, YES there was for a couple years during this time. LAND O LAKES had that collections for money for schools. Codes on the caps, you entered them and choose your school registered and they got the money. Same with Marie Callender frozen meals...those money points went to calling cards for our soldiers placed around the world. This is ongoing all over for saving product information for causes.
WE USED TO MAKE WREATH OUT OF THEM. CUT CIRCLES FROM MATERIAL, BIG ENOUGH TO PUT YOUR CAP IN IT, IT WILL LOOK LIKE A FRILLY HAT, THEN GLUE THEM ONTO A CARDBOARD OR WOOD CIRCLE. IF YOU EVER MADE YOYO'S YOU KNOW ALREADY, SEW AROUND THE CIRCLE WITH BIG STITCHES SO YOU CAN GATHER IT. REAL NICE WITH XMAS MATERIAL,
Back when the Lang catalog sold "Bob's Boxes," I got a nice treasure/jewelry box. My bathroom counter is long, so I use it as my dresser. I didn't want water getting to the bottom of the box, so I glued marbles to the corners to keep it lifted off the counter.
But, they kept coming off. Finally, I glued blue bottle caps to the corners instead. They're not really visible, but I don't have to worry about water ruining the underside.
Look up the Buddy Bench program in Ft Wayne Indiana, for a great idea!
In Australia there is a place in Canberra (and other cities) that recycle them and make prosthetic limbs'. Google that and see if there is anything near you.
